Complete description:Fun and Diving at Cuevas River’s three waterfalls + free optional visit to a close-by archaeological site and lookout point.
Includes a pleasant one-hour drive on a paved road along the valley of Samaipata River, ½ hour of easy walking and 2 hours to relax at the waterfalls. Watch birds or simply enjoy the intimate contact with nature.
For the more adventurous, combine ½ hour at the waterfalls with 1½ hour hiking to Cuevas´ new archaeological find and take advantage of the spectacular lookout, where the Chiriguana cannibals once lived. Their mystic forefathers, the Guaraní warriors, made there way to these sub Andean hills in their search for the Loma Santa or ¨Holy Hill¨. They took wives by force from the native farmers of this region, the Chané and became an integral part of Samaipata´s rich cultural tapestry.
