Day 1: From Samaipata we will pass through Mataral arriving to restaurant El Mirador in Vallegrande (3 hs drive). After lunch, at first we will visit in 1½ hour the laundry of the Señor de Malta hospital, where Che’s corpse was exposed to the public and press; we will go to the Reminder erected in the landing strip, where the common grave in which he was buried was recently found; stopping also the common graves in the old landfill, where the bodies of the guerrilla's partners were buried. On the way of La Higuera, we pause after two hours in Pucará, a picturesque place with traditional architecture of colonial times, named after a close by pre Inca fortresses ruin. Here, we will take an hour for a walk in town. Dinner and overnight will be at Casa Del Telegrafista Hostel (after a last hour drive).
Day 2: After breakfast, we leave the Hostel, and tr ack, during the morning the last days of Ché Guevara. The legendary revolutionary communist was taken in Quebrada Del Churo, ravine near La Higuera, afterwards being shot it in the school (today a small museum). After lunch, we return until Palmarito, nice area that we reach after 2 ½ drive, in order to visit the rock paintings by The Devil, The Virgin and others. The campsite lies at a brook with crystal-clear water beside an old water-powered mill. Camping there or in Vilcas waterfall. Dinner around campfire.
Day 3: We will have breakfast and break camp early. Then, we will take ancient merchants’ back drives linking Postrervalle, Guadalupe town,
Tembladeras
River , Tierras Nuevas, and several remote summits and valleys, some with rare endemic palm trees. Mid-morning we arrive at Postrervalle, (a traditional colonial town named ¨Garden of Delights¨) and after a snack we will wander through the st reets in a 1½ hour photo-tour of the town, during which we will discover various aspects of these hospitable Valluno inhabitants´ daily life. We might catch a glimpse of the locals in their daily routine, milking cows, plowing with a yoke of oxen, or saddling up their horses, etc. Then 2 more hours drive to the Quirusillas lagoon or Pajcha waterfall, where we will have lunch surrounded by steep hills and full of fish and aquatic birds. We will continue for an hour to the small settlement named El Surtidor, where we may visit pre-Colombian kilns and after a last hour drive reach Samaipata again. The combination of sites and time taken at each are subject to changes based on road conditions, and we may not be able to make it to all the planned sites.
